September 16th 2003 at the Warsaw Castle Special Session PTZPiD for the special occasion of professor’s Stanley Dudrick’s visit . Professor Stanley J. Durick was born in Naticoke in the state of Pennsylvania in 1935. His grandfather was John Dudzic was born on February 16, 1876 in Gmina Zygocina around Tarnow. His grandmother Maria Guzik was from around the same area. Prof. Durick’s grandparent’s immigrated to the U.S.A. in 1904 where they changed their last name from Dudzic to Durnic. The grandparents had a total of seven children, one of, which was professor’s Durnic’s father who graduated from a university in 1961. Eleven years later he was the soul founder and a professor at Clinic of Gastroenterologic Surgery and Nutrition in Texas he was also the in charge of University of gastronterologic surgery in Houston. In 1987 he became the director of the Gastronterologic Clinic in a Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, he was also a professor at the University of Pennsylvania. Professor Stanley Durick became a part of medical history when he discovered the methods of parenteral nutrition, which was completed by 1967. He is a recipient of over 80 recognition’s and prizes, some of which included a prize from American Medical Association, American Surgical Association, American Academy of Pediartics and many others. He is also a member of 105 medical organizations and a co-founder of 5 medical organizations; one of the ones is American Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition. He is an author of over 500 scholastic publications. On September 16, 2003 at the Warsaw Castle, Professor S.J. Dudrick presented a speech after which he received a certificate of Honorary Member of PTZPiD as well as a recognition from the association of parenteral nutrition in home conditions in Poland.
