REHABILITATION METHODS

Feldenkrais

This method is based on an assumption that a human body (a human organism) possesses a potential to make changes, and that all people - regardless their age, health or other conditioning are able to learn new abilities. The Feldenkrais method allows a human being increase own awareness of movement. This method enables one to express oneself and discover, or acquire new, more functional movement patterns and more behavior

This is a process of learning based on laws of physics, biomechanics, as well as on empirical understanding of the development of movement. This method increases ability to feel and ability to re-create lost functions. All is a result of reflection, learning new strategies and new possibilities to move.

Qi-gong, Chi-gong

This method was created in ancient China about four thousand years ago. It is based on Chinese philosophy and cosmology. Each, even the smallest part reflects The Whole. Each cell is an image of the Universe. Matter and energy are mutually, inseparably connected and influence each other. Qi means the energy of life. This energy is inside and around us. The body energy network forms the so-called an electromagnetic circulation system. The Qi energy circulates in channels, reflecting particular body systems, as well as neuropeptide passages connecting body with mind. The same energy connects all live beings and the entire Universe. The balance of this energy means health. We are healthy as long as the energy flow between all energy centers is undisturbed. Energy bias emerges as a result of improper nutrition, lack of movement, rest, bad interpersonal relations, and impaired physical, mental and spiritual energy connections.

Qi-gong enables optimal physical and mental health through:

  • full use of muscles and joints,
  • improving memory and concentration,
  • increasing sensual perception,
  • energy integration of body mind and spirit,
  • stimulation of the so-called "sixth sense",
  • it integrates movement with meditation
  • increases flexibility of body, mind, emotions and interpersonal relations,

In China it was told to be a method "developing conscience in the young, improving intelligence, memory and concentration in the middle of life, and prolonging life of the elderly".

  • Qi-gong, like acupuncture, activates bioenergetic activity of the body,
  • it restores energy balance impaired by a disease and hence - health.

Yoga

Physical and spiritual exercises linked together. It enhances body flexibility and elasticity. Joga deserves special attention, because this is not only an exercise routine to improve body functions, but rather an entire philosophical system. It is not limited only to physical exercises or to the way we breathe, it tends to encompass all our attitude to the world and life, all our psyche.

Yoga is the unity of body and mind. When properly practiced, it calms the mind and increases body energy resources. Body and mind are linked and can't be separated. When the mind is aware of its aim, it can influence the body.

Hatha-yoga is based on an assumption of an intimate link between body and mind. It is focussed on a human being as a whole, so it aids not only physical, but also mental health.

The word yoga comes from Sanskrith and means "link" or "union". Hatha-yoga aims at achieving balance between positive and negative aspects of ourselves.

Yoga and loss of balance - an illness

The philosophy of yoga assumes that good health is a natural state of a human being. The health is good when body and mind are balanced. An illness appears when this balance is disturbed. There is, in ourselves, a natural life force - an energy of life which tends to maintain good health. Yogis tell that one who lives in harmony with Nature will never get ill. Even if your life style is unhealthy, the healing force is still in yourself, waiting for you to give it a chance.
