Our first youth vacation of young people with RP took us to the Greek island of Skopelos. It was a really great (!!!) time. Below you can find some details and we hope you join our trip next time.
Skopelos is a small island in northern Agean sea. We all met in Athens on first weekend of October in a convent close to Athens city centre. It was a warm welcome and a nice place to meet the other youngsters from France, Germany, Northern Ireland and Greece.
On Sunday morning (very early) we took the bus for a two hours trip to the port where we reached the flying dolphin. Flying dolphin is a very fast but boring ferry.
Anyway, we reached island of Skopelos at noon time and we were all very anxious about hotel, beaches and everything. The weather was fine. About 25 degrees Celsius (in October, unbelievable for midele and Northern Europe).
First action after entering the room was to select the bathing clothes and to go to the beach. We have had to take the bus and visited a lot of different beaches. On first day we have chosen the closest one in order to enjoy the sea after the long trip.
Our breakfast was served on the terrace every morning with view over the city.
From our hotel to the city we have to walk through narrow streets. Especially in the night it was very exciting because there were a lot of stairs and not lights. But we managed it very good and lost nobody.
Another day on the beach. Don`t be afraid it was not cold. Rather the opposite. The sun burned really heavy and you have to protect your skin if you are the hole day lying on the beach.
There were a lot of funny stories and everybody enjoyed this vacation.
We have the chance to make this trip in next year again. Either to Skopelos or an other Greek island. Date would be October because it is cheaper, there is capacity and not to hot.
If you are interested to join our REY vacation next time please send email to me.
I will let you know about more details as soon as possible.
Thanks to the Greek people for organising this great event !!!!!! We will come back again gladly.
